HW on Mondays

I tried arguing with my professor not to assign hw on Mondays for Mondays. That's so worthless to us. I mean teachers see us from early in the morning till late at night during the week. At night, we're working, at other meetings or just passed out from exhaustion. When do they think we're going to work on the hw if not on the weekend? So why even pretend that they're giving us a week to work on it? They assign it on Monday, but we don't have a chance to look at it until Saturday! That's such an inefficient and unbeneficial way of allowing us to do the homework.

Anyways, he wouldn't listen to my argument. He's so mean. >_<

San Jose Postcard

Note to self:

Look for San Jose Postcard when you go to Cali. next week. Apparently, these are rare commodities. San Francisco postcard will not suffice.

$5.00???

What to do with my 5 bucks? Every once in a while, I go crazy and spend money. But usually it's for things I really do want or have wanted for a while. It's just that maybe if I wasn't in a crazy mood, I would remember that at that particular moment I'm trying to save money for something else and was planning to wait on the item that's in my hand at that second.

The purchases are almost always spontaneous. So when I spotted something that I wanted this weekend for $5 I knew it wasn't a big deal, but I also knew I was in a spur-of-the-minute-spending mode... Since I had just shelled out $250 on something else. Then $15 for something else. But I do want this other item. I've been saving the $5 since Saturday for this thing I want. If I can hold out until Friday night, I'll purchase it. I've actually given it serious thought, prayer, and done research for this silly $5 purchase.

The $5 actually left my hand today. I nearly spent it on something else. But I took it back at the last minute. And now I can't wait for Friday, cause I really want to buy this thing. I was supposed to go to an opera, but when I went to the box offic to buy my ticket, they told me it was last week.

Under the Piano

When my doctor prescribed me a new medication, I mentioned to him that I had seen that some patients experience hallucinations on that particular drug. He seemed vaguely concerned and surprised, "Let me know if that happens to you." Yeah, I definitely would. But after one day on the new meds I felt like my head and stomach were simulating my turbulent and chaotic lab experiments.

I went to the practice room after lunch one day, and eventually found myself about to pass out. I threw my coat on the floor and rolled up my scarf, set my cell phone alarm clock (so as not to miss my next class) and fell asleep to the muffled sounds of someone practice the horn. I woke up and felt like miserable. So I stumbled to lab, where my office mate informed me that going home and sleeping in my bed would be more to the purpose than sleeping on the floor in practice rooms. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, I got home okay.

But if you want to nap under a piano, make sure it's a Steinway. Better quality dreams.

Utterly Miserable

Had the most dreadful week. On the verge of tears continually. I just told my professors I wasn't coming in on Monday and didn't have any hw to give them. They said I could hand it in the next day, but after 10 hrs of trying to figure out mixing and combustion, I just handed it in as it was; possibly I'll get 50% out of it. As far as Katz's fluids went, 0% ,didn't even try. Then the next morning I woke up and cancelled my voice class of all things.

By Thursday, my lab partner told me to go home and get some sleep. Instead I went to the grocery store and threw random stuff I've never bought in the cart. Then I went home, invited my cousin over for dinner and started to cook.

I was so excited about how things turned out so I'll list the menu here.

Beef stew in a Butternut Squash Broth
Lasagna with spelt noodles
Spelt spaghetti with basil pesto and olives
Spinach Mixed Salad with basil and tomato feta cheese and olives
Eggplant, Bell Peppers, and Purple Onion Rings with Soy Sauce

Sweet and Sour Pork with Sesame Seed
Bismati Rice
Curry Chicken with Pineapple and Red Peppers
Strawberries and Peaches with chocolate Whipped Cream

Muscat Wine

Almost all of these dish ideas came from dinners I've had with Greek, German, Swedish, Romanian, and Indian friends.

Oh, I also bought yellow french tulips, pink sweetheart roses and some new taper candles. Great, now it's written down so I won't forget. Incidently, I've never been able to buy tulips. Seems like their only available between Oct-May.

Well, anyways, I do feel a little better now.
