Houston we have a problem...

I've had a premonition that I would hear these words one day. I am way too random to be an engineer.

I have a couple random stories that I have to share, probably won't give them all now, but here's the most recent.

Last night I came in on a flight and forgot something on the plane. So since I work close to the airport I stopped there this morning before work to see if I could find it. I ran into a professor from the Hop (Hemker.) He was on his way to Bejing for a conference and other stuff, He'll also be seeing Chen, who is starting an engineering school in China! But okay, isn't that perfectly random running into him. Well, maybe not. But it was funny. For anyone who cares, he has a two year old now. (little late to find out, but I thought it was nice.)

Incidentally, I saw Nora... Su? Okamura/Su? I'm not sure what Lester and Alison decided. I was at Peabody for a recital last week and decided to drop off those Heat Transfer problems for Dr. Herman. So when I came into Latrobe at 9pm, Allison was standing in the hall with Nora. She's too cute, Really, one of the pretty babies I've seen. So I told Lester, he really should put her into baby modeling. I think he's already been thinking about it... He said that he thought that she'd make a perfect Asian Gerber baby!

Okay, enough randomness for now... I guess it's random, because I don't even go to that school anymore really, but it feels like I never left. It's funny how desperately I've tried.

Got sleep?

Okay, I finished the paper. I am exhausted. I guess I'll hit the sack for a few hours, then I'll get up and cram the combustion review. Sigh. This poster is pretty apt. I have a feeling I'm going to fail this exam tomorrow. But I couldn't bear to put up the failure poster. Defeat seems much more like the act of "failure" was a result of something outside of my own ineptness. Ummm yeah, whatever.

If you want the whole demotivational series feel free to ask.

Back to the Books...

Your IQ Is 115

Your Logical Intelligence is Below Average

Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius

Your Mathematical Intelligence is Exceptional

Your General Knowledge is Exceptional

So I've got a Mixing and Combustion exam tomorrow as well as a paper due on turbulent nonpremixed flames. Also, by Friday I have to hand in 7 graduate level radiation problems -- well the answers to the problems not the questions themselves. So far I've reviewed my mixing notes (not my combustion notes though, I studied those a few weeks ago hopefully I'll remember them, cause I don't think I'll have too much time to study.) And I've researched my turbulent flame paper. I unfortunately can't remember anything about radiation -- view factor... stefan boltzman... well that's it. I haven't started on those problems.

Well I needed a break, so I took some more tests... thank you Goldie, I'm a Diet Coke and a Natural Flirt. I also am a very illogical person, which is clearly demonstrated by the fact that I'm goofing around right now instead of studying. All right back to the books.

Candyland?

Gummy Bears

You may be smooshie and taste unnatural, but you're so darn cute.

私は姉妹愛する

My lil sis plays the sax. I totally cried when I heard this.

Babe, you're totally booked for my wedding -- whenever that will be, I'm giving you lots of time to look for a dress, cause incidentally I stole your little black one. You rock, neko-chan!

Soprano Dress

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Here's a pic of me in my soprano dress. Musicians usually dress in demure black or black and white. Pretty meek. But vocalists typically wear very showy fancy gowns. So here's something I picked up last summer. I think I'll need something new for this summer, but it worked last week when I sang for my aunt's ceremony. My cousin's are messing around behind me. They were the one's who convinced me to wear this dress that day.

So, I sang Ave Maria at my aunt's ceremony. I got a "You should go on American Idol" compliment. That's funny a lot of people say that. Why in the world would I want to be in that contest, even if I could win.

Today someone said they want to have me sing a song for their album. This person has never actually heard me sing, but he did hear that I "phenomenol." ;-) What a hoot!

So I decided to put up a poster at my gym and a stack of business cards at my chinese food restaurant and get some paying wedding gigs going. Good luck to me.

My little bro is getting married next August. He's asked me to sing. I have to be a paid professional by then, at least 5 previous bookings to my credit. Thing I can do it?
