more poetry

"Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove. O no, it is an ever fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wand'ring barque, Whose worth's unknown although his height be taken. Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come; Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom."

This is the first sonnet I ever heard. That was several years ago. But just a few days ago, someone sent me the whole collection of Shakespeare's sonnets for my birthday. I've never even told them I liked Shakespeare. It's funny that they knew I'd appreciate it. Shakespeare's sonnets are so wonderful at explaining the emotions, feelings, and thoughts involved in love and friendship.

Now are these words enough to believe someone cares for you? Remember when Willoughby said this to Marianne? Remember what his actions were later?
